This Standard covers complete general and dimensionaldata for three series of general purpose taperedand reduced cross section retaining rings, which maybe used with the nominal size shafts and housingslisted and in grooves of the recommended dimensionslisted. Also included are formulas and tolerances onwhich dimensional data are based. Three appendicesinclude guidance for assembly and recommended standarddrawing formats.
The inclusion of dimensional data in this Standardis not intended to imply that all of the products describedare stock production sizes. Consumers should consultwith suppliers concerning lists of stock production sizes.
